First off, I should thank all those Android Nerds who came up with these Custom ROMs and the ways to get them onto older phones like HTC Wildfire S which, very sadly has updates stopped by HTC.
That said, all those guides on the Internet are so cluttered and with so much information that it can be too much for a "Dummy" like myself when I finally pick up the courage and start to tinker with the phone.
There are lot of step-by-step guides but most of them are by the persons who really understand the internals of Android OS or very familiar with the nomenclature and abbreviations used in the Android world. So, they some times assume that we have some knowledge to do this stuff when they write those guides.
This post is an attempt to clearly list the steps for "Dummies" like me to follow and update the HTC Wilfdire S's OS to KitKat 4.4.4
The Custom ROM(Don't bother, it means the new OS) that I have used is Cyanogenmod 11.
I experimented with 3 or 4 before I finally settled with this one. This is by far the most stable one I have seen of the three I used.
So without much further ado, lets gets started.
AND GOES WITHOUT SAYING, IF YOU THINK THERE IS NO RISK IN DOING THIS OR IF THERE IS NO CHANCE OF ANYTHING GOING WRONG, YOU ARE AN IDIOT.
